2011

I'm back to my normal self again after a long week back in Aberdeen. The first couple of days was rough. Even though I was dead tired, I couldn't really sleep through the night. Which made me even more tired at work. It also didn't help that work was actually pretty busy for me . I'm starting a new role, so I've been spending my days training and learning new things. I'm glad I'm getting this opportunity to gain more experience in the industry. And I'm really enjoying my coworkers. It's nice to meet new people and learn about different cultures. With that said, Gerald and I have sort of finalized our travel plans for the year and I'm pretty excited. We'll be meeting tons of new people and seeing countries we've never seen before. We're even going back to the motherland! Here are some cities on our list of travels for the year.
  • Switzerland Skiing - Zermatt
  • France Skiing - Chamonix
  • Dublin, Ireland
  • Cape Town, South Africa Safari
  • Dubrovnik, Croatia
  • Istanbul, Turkey
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Munich, Germany - Oktoberfest
  • Marrakech, Morocco
  • Phillippines
  • Cambodia
  • Thailand
We'll be spending lots of time at the airport, on airplanes so I pray for good weather and safe travels throughout the year.

This weekend, I wanted a nice quiet weekend of doing nothing, but you know, that never happens. I'm always down for some quality time with friends. Erwin paid us a visit from New Castle, England for a night last night so we tried to show him as much of Aberdeen as possible. We went to eat at the Albyn and he pretty much tried most of the Scottish things: Black Pudding and Haggis fritters, fish pie, stickey toffee pudding, Tennents, and multiple kinds of whiskey. Oh yeah, we couldn't let him leave without visiting SOUL casino. We picked up some Bacon Rolls this morning on the way to Dunnottar Castle and sent Erwin back to New Castle with a taste of Scotland in less than 24 hrs!

Thanks for driving down Erwin.

Also, I'm hoping to start blogging more since I've been slacking these past couple of months.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

See you later, Houston!

Today is my last night in Houston =( The past 5 weeks have been tons of fun with lots of get togethers, eating and drinking! I love my friends and family so much and cherish every moment spent with them. I have two luggage's packed; one with clothes and the other with mostly food that I can't get in the ABZ. I hope it's not overweight when I check in or I'll have to leave some items behind. I was thinking I would do more clothes shopping here but for some reason, I didn't. Even though things are way cheaper, I still can't find anything I like! I think I forgot how to shop since I don't really dress up much these days. Or I just don't know how to shop for winter clothes. Everything I pick up is either short sleeves, spring or summery! I must learn how to layer, any one want to help? hehe...Here are a few group pictures from this past month!

Anyhow, I think I'm ready to head back. Especially since I haven't seen Gerald in 2 weeks! After 5 months of being together night and day, I miss him! Gerald, I hope you've been practicing your dancing for our next flashmob lesson...hehe. Check out this video our friend put together of our New Years trip to Lake Tahoe! Loads of fun!

I'm also excited that my friend Erwin will be on the same flight as me to Paris! At least I'll have some company on the 10 hour leg back. Let's just hope we can get seats next to each other. I'm going to spend this last night hanging out with the parents and maybe watch The Fighter, I heard it was a good movie and you know it won't be in Aberdeen until a while so I should take advantage....

Okie dokes! It's been fun friends, I'll see you all in July!

Happy New Year!

Wow! I still can't believe another year has passed by so quickly. Gerald returned to Aberdeen yesterday and I'll be in Houston for another 11 days! We had lots to be thankful for this year and hope that this next year will bring us much more love, happiness and good health! Every year, most people's New Year's resolution is to lose weight, and most will start off the year watching what they eat, drink, etc. I, on the other hand, am doing the opposite! ! I'm staying at my parents now and am getting fed home cooked meals non stop. I guess my New Year's resolution of getting into shape will be put on hold until I return to Aberdeen. The food here is too good to pass up.

one of our favorites in Houston - Pappadeaux - cajun food!

We celebrated New Year's in Lake Tahoe with 30 0f our friends in an awesome rental. I tested out my new ski's and love them. I"m looking forward to using them in France and Switzerland next month! The ski trip was super tiring but Gerald and I stuck it out like soldiers and made the most of our time. We pulled 2 all nighters in the 4 days we were there to maximize time with friends. Spending time with our college friends is the one thing that I miss the most. I think we have the best friends in the world! We all get along so well and we really know how to have a good time! I hope to meet many more friends around the world in this New Year so I can share the same experiences.

2011 will be our Year of Travels. We plan to travel some of Europe and also visit our homeland, The Philippines and Cambodia. I can't wait for the adventure to begin!
